The LTD Surveyor '87 is a specific model of bass guitar from ESP's LTD '87 Series, which are faithful recreations of the instruments from ESP's 1987 catalog. The Surveyor '87 features a classic bolt-on design with a 34" scale, and an alder body with a Pearl White finish. The neck is made of maple, with a Thin U neck contour and a Macassar ebony fingerboard with 21 extra-jumbo frets and a 400mm radius.
The Surveyor '87 is equipped with top-tier components, including a Gotoh 201B-4 bridge and a Seymour Duncan Vintage P/Vintage Jazz pickup set. The pickups are controlled by a volume/balance/tone layout, and the bass is equipped with LTD Vintage tuners and a standard strap button. The nut is a molded type with a width of 42mm.
The electronics of the Surveyor '87 are passive, and the bass comes strung with D'Addario XL165 strings (.045/.065/.085/.105). The bass does not come with a case included, but the Surveyor Bass Form Fit case is available separately.
Overall, the LTD Surveyor '87 is a high-quality instrument designed to recreate the classic ESP Surveyor shape with modern components and construction techniques. It is an excellent choice for bass players who want a versatile and reliable instrument that combines classic design with modern features.
