For this limited release 414ce, we’ve taken that straightforward, professional approach and spiced it up with a Western red cedar top to match with solid ovangkol back and sides. The result is a guitar whose tone is a bit darker than you might expect from the 400 Series, thanks to cedar’s warmth and low-end responsiveness. Ovangkol’s more treble-focused, sparkling tone profile helps balance the top’s lower volume ceiling, making this an excellent option for fingerstyle guitarists who love to get creative with dynamics. Aesthetically, we’ve appointed this 414ce LTD with a hand-applied shaded edgeburst finish treatment for the back and sides, complementing cedar’s earthy, organic coloration. It ships with ES2 electronics in a deluxe hardshell case.
