Vox AC15C2 2x12 Combo (USED)

The Vox AC15C2 "Twin" is a unique beast in the Vox lineup. It takes the classic 15-watt power section of the AC15 and houses it in the larger cabinet of its bigger brother, the AC30.  This used example is in great condition but has a little wear.

The Best of Both Worlds

The primary appeal of the AC15C2 is getting "the sound of an AC30" without needing to play at stadium volumes. Because it has 15 watts of tube power rather than 30, you can push the power tubes into that sweet, natural overdrive at much lower (and more ear-friendly) volume levels.

• Twin Speakers: It is loaded with two 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speakers. This moves significantly more air than the standard 1x12 model, giving you a wider soundstage and a much richer low-end response.

• Larger Reverb: Because it uses the AC30-sized cabinet, it features the larger spring reverb tank found in the AC30C2, offering a deeper, more lush ambient sound than the standard AC15.

• Classic "Chime": You still get the two iconic Vox channels—Normal and Top Boost—driven by three 12AX7 preamp tubes and two EL84 power tubes.

Considerations

• The Weight: The most common "con" cited by players is the weight. At 66.58 lbs, it weighs almost exactly the same as an AC30. If you are looking for a portable grab-and-go amp, the 1x12 version (AC15C1) is much lighter.

• Headroom: If you need a perfectly clean sound while playing with a very loud drummer, you might run out of "clean headroom" faster than you would with a 30-watt amp.
