This Wurlitzer was housed in the music lab at SIUE for many years. It was recently cleaned up by our electronics tech to correct some cold solder joints. It plays and sounds amazing. It also weights a LOT. We will not ship it.
The Wurlitzer Model 206 is an electric piano that was produced by the Wurlitzer Company from the late 1950s to the early 1960s. It is part of the Wurlitzer 200 series of electric pianos, which also includes the Models 200, 203, and 207.
The Model 206 has a distinctive design that features a built-in speaker, a metal music stand, and a tapered wooden base. It has 64 keys and produces a warm, percussive sound that is often associated with vintage electric pianos.
The Wurlitzer Model 206 was widely used in popular music of the 1960s and 1970s, particularly in genres such as soul, funk, and rock. It can be heard on recordings by artists such as Ray Charles, Steely Dan, and Supertramp. Today, the Wurlitzer Model 206 is sought after by musicians and collectors for its unique sound and vintage appeal.
