Garrett Rongey is a skilled and passionate guitarist from Edwardsville, Illinois, known for his dynamic playing style and broad musical versatility. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Jazz Performance from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). While his formal training is rooted in jazz, Garrett has spent years honing his craft in country, bluegrass, and classical guitar. His combination of technical expertise and love for performing has made him a respected figure in the local music scene. He performs regularly as a solo artist and as the lead guitarist for Nick Gusman and the Coyotes, a St. Louis-based band that tours regionally and internationally. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Garrett has worked with students ranging in age from 5 to 85. He is passionate about helping each one find their voice through different genres, techniques, and personalized learning styles.
